Effluent Pump Tanks WCP Effluent Pump Tanks or Chambers are designed to be used in septic systems to house a pump(s) for the purpose of transferring septic effluent to a the septic treatment area ( septic bed ).
All pump chambers should be made accessible for service of installed components. To accomplish this, the standard WCP configuration includes a plastic cast-in-place access riser in the tank lid. This allows for service access at any time of the year without the necessity of digging up your lawn.
All electrical connections should be made similarly accessible. Standard effluent tanks produce high levels of corrosive gases which will quickly attack any exposed wiring or connections located within the chamber or riser. It is therefore recommended that all electrical connections be made outside the tank inside a weather proof, vented enclosure mounted either above the tank ( see photo ) or on a nearby exterior wall. Doing so will allow easy access for troubleshooting and service of installed electrical components.
WARNING. Conduit installed directly from inside a pump tank to inside your house could result in gases from the pump tank eventually entering your house.
Electrical connections may be made inside a pump tank if the chamber atmosphere is neutral, with no corrosive gas accumulation. Such would be the case in a normally functioning Biofilter tank. Care should be taken however to provide protection to connections from the high humidity inside the tank.
WCP also supply’s an extensive line of installation accessories including effluent pumps, alarm panels, controllers, float switches, piping, valves and fittings.
Features of a Winona Effluent Pump Tank include:
